Avalon: Web of Magic Celebrates 20 Years!

Hey Jewel Fans! We here at the JRA hope that you’ve been having a happy and safe 2021 so far.

Can you believe that this year is coming to an end soon? Crazy, right? We realized that this year marks two anniversaries: the 25th anniversay of the second season of Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders, and the 20th anniversary of the Avalon: Web of Magic books that are loosely based on the show! These have always been an interesting curiosity to us here at the Archive, being based on Jewel Riders but not actually a direct continuation of the series. They are definitely their own thing, but have so many fun callbacks!

Our Avalon: Web of Magic section is broken down into three subsections

If you want to know more about Avalon: Web of Magic, the place to go has to be our sister site The Avalon Archive! Jacquesworth has put together an amazing site that takes all twelve books chapter by chapter, breaking them down with cool comparisons between original and revised versions, Avalon-related news and rumors, discussion of related properties, and more!

Chris and Ronnie even sat down with Jacq for three episodes of the Jewel Riders Archive Podcast to discuss and chat about the first three books in the series. We always meant to do more books this year, but between life and pandemic related intrusions, it hasn’t happened yet. If you’d like to hear more of our discussions for the rest of the series, drop us a line below and let us know if you’d like to see more!

We even had the opportunity to interview singer/songwriter Debra Davis and illustratror Allison Strom about their work on the series! It was super fun getting to go behind the scenes a bit with these awesome ladies!

We hope you take some time to explore the Avalon related section of the site, and join us in wishing the spiritual successor to Jewel Riders a very happy Twentieth Anniversary!

Friends Together, Friends Forever!

Chris and Ronnie
