International Day of Forests

Hey Jewel Fans!

We’re here to let you know about a really awesome holiday!  March 21st is the International Day of Forests.  Organized by the United Nations, it’s focused on raising awareness about the forests of the world and the unique positions they have in ecosystems across the globe.  You can, of course, find tons of great information on their website.

Forests play a central role in the world of Jewel Riders too.  From the magic Forest of Arden to the steamy jungles in the south, Avalon is home to forests of all kinds.  The Knights of Avalon – known less formally as the Pack – use their Forest Stones to communicate with trees about past events and history, and can use their Enchanted Jewels to help the forests grow.  Forests in Avalon are also home to many Travel Tree rings – intelligent, magical trees planted by Merlin that can open doorways into the Wild Magic!

We leave you with a quote from the famous Naturalist, John Muir: “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
