July Update

Revenge02

Hey Jewel Fans!

For our United States fans, we wanted to wish you a belated Independence Day!  Did you see any good fireworks?

Kerry Butler

Before we get to the updates, we wanted to wish an absolutely amazing (belated) Happy Birthday to Princess Gwenevere herself, Kerry Butler!  Kerry is a Broadway actress best known for her roles in Hairspray, Xanadu, and Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.  We wished her Happy Birthday on Twitter, and were delighted to get this response!

We might have gotten overexcited like small house pets and peed a little.

We have an absolutely huge update for you guys this month, full of a ton of great marketing and pre-production materials!

Proto Gwen Sun Power 1 WM

First off, we’ve updated the Prototypes section of the site to include photos of all the test shots and prototypes from the toy line that have been sold on Ebay over the last several years, including the write-ups posted alongside the auctions.  There’s a lot of neat images to check out, so be sure to take a look.

Another section that we’ve updated lately is the Marketing tab.  Here, we’ve collected various marketing materials related to the show.  There are some really neat things to check out, including pages from a Pre-Toy Fair 1996 catalog!

Of special note is this jewelry, something that neither of us had ever seen before.  Did anyone ever see this in the wild, or perhaps own some of it as kids?  Let us know!

Keep a close eye on our YouTube channel, as we’ll be releasing more marketing materials related to the show, including Doll line commercials, and European commercials for VHS tapes and music CDs!

Revenge01

For this month’s script release, we have the script to Revenge of the Dark Stone!  The second-to-last episode of the show, and the beginning of the show’s second two-parter, this episode features evil Lady Kale taking control of the Crystal Palace, the Crown Jewels, and Avalon itself!  Check out the script over in our Season One Scripts section!

Related to our feature of the script for Revenge of the Dark Stone, we wanted to point you in the direction of an absolutely fascinating behind-the-scenes video recording posted by John Beach, the voice actor who brought Drake and Archie to life!

And if you check out our YouTube channel, you can see a comparison video between the recording session and what ended up on  the screen!

Thanks for sticking around, and we’ll see you all next month!
