Survey Results

Our Satisfaction Survey is now closed. We wanted to thank everyone who took the time to fill out the survey and share their thoughts. We’ve compiled some of the highlights of what we learned below.

  • More than half of respondents have been following since we opened. (Wow! @_@)
  • More than half of respondents visit the website “Every so Often” vs about forty percent “Monthly.”
  • ¾ of respondents follow the JRA on social media.
  • Facebook, Youtube and Instagram are the Most Popular social media outlets.
    • Based on this, and our own experiences, we will be closing updates on Vero, We Heart It, Dailymotion, Pinterest, and Flickr. They will remain open but not updated. Google Plus will be closing as well, but this is due to the service ending.
    • That leaves: YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. These will continue to upload with new content.
    • This will happen January 1st.
  • We will continue weekly social media posts and bimonthly blog updates.
  • Most respondents want to see updates directly on the main page. This is something we will work on implementing.
  • Half of people don’t know they can email us directly! You can always email us at our Archivist email!
  • Also, some people did not know they could get a birthday message from us! Check out our Circle of Friends!

Again, thank you so much to everyone who took the time to take the survey! It was a positive experience for us, and definitely something we will look into redoing in the future.

Rainbow Brite Comic

In other magical girl news, did you know that Rainbow Brite just launched a new comic series? Friend of the site Katy Haile (owner of Rainbowbrite.net) has recorded a video review of the first issue!

Chris also picked up the first issue, and had these thoughts:

For those looking for an easy entry point to the Rainbow Brite mythos, I recommend this series wholeheartedly! Most people don’t know that Rainbow Brite was not always the titular character, but grew up as a powerless girl named Wisp. This is where the comic series starts – with friends Wisp and Willow on Earth. I like that it takes us back to the very beginning of Rainbow Brite’s story, while also providing a fresh and new spin on the source material. And yet it still feels like the fundamentals are correct, unlike the animated mini-series that premiered a few years back. Highly recommended!

The comic is available from any fine comics retailer. For digital copies, you can check it out on Comixology. The first issue is out now, and the 2nd issue is due to drop on November 14th. Plus, check out these absolutely gorgeous covers!

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

In other Princess news, the premiere date for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix was moved up to Nov. 14th! That’s right, in four days you’ll be able to experience this new magical show for yourselves! We are just beyond excited, and will probably post a Season One review sometime in December.

New Rainbow Brite comic AND She-Ra? November 14th is shaping up to be a great day!

Our New Comic

The most exciting thing going on around here is that we’re preparing the release of the JRA’s very own comic series! As part of our “Year of the Unicorn” we wanted to shine a light on the oft-overlooked equine companions of the Jewel Riders, and a “to the left of the frame” comic fits the bill! We’ve partnered with awesome artist Alex Durham (who you may remember as the winner of our Princess Tara design contest), and are hard at work creating fun little stories and gorgeous artwork for you to enjoy! We are hoping to have our first release next month on the 10th, so be sure to check back for new updates!

In the meantime, enjoy this lovely (dare we say only?) Enchanted Camelot fanart that Alex created!

See you next month Jewel Fans!
